Our Family Blog: December 1 - 15 Kosta's 9th birthday, Sophia chinese dance video and more!

Kostas showed up on the TaeKwonDo belt test day to help his friend Brian test for his black belt. We decided not to continue this activity in 2007, homework is getting harder and Kostas is getting involved in his school in things such as: Horatorical Society, Chess Club, Science Olympiad, Student Council and he was even elected 4th Grade Class President!!! He must have dad's genes:-)

Another Sunday, another game December 3. This was the most enjoyable game of the season! We played the cream of the crop, a Saline team that has never lost a game and no other team scored two goals on them in the same game ever! The Dragons played their heart out and played with no fear. The Saline team was very talented but also very clean and the sportsmanslike behavior on the field and the fans was superb! We were down 2-0 in halftime and scored one in early second half. Battles raged on and the Saline team scored another 1 midway through the secon half to go up 3-1. But our kids did not let down and went into full attack mode. We make it 3-2 and then we applied big time pressure on them only to let in two breakaway counterattack goals in the last five minutes to lose 5-2 and go 3-3 in the season. One Saline parent admitted this was the best team they have faced so far, wow, that is quite a compliment!

Great job by all!

It's official, on December 9 Kostas is now 9 years old. We celebrated it first at Tee's house:

Another Sunday, another game December 10. Another exciting game that went down to the wire. Our team was in control the whole way and up by 3-1. But a judgement error between the goalie and a defender allowed the other team to make it 3-2. Then, all of a sudden, the Dragons were on their heels desperately looking for the time to end it with a W. But less than two minutes the other team ties it 3-3! Oh no, this can't be happening. And then little energizer Bunny Austin was not to be denied, he took it all the way himself across the other goal area and blasted a shot past their goalie to win it 4-3 with about 25 seconds left! The crowd went crazy, what a thrilling end! The record also now improves to an overall 4-3.
