November 16 - 30 Pistons Game & more

We start off with the one and only Fluffy.....meow:-)

Dad took Kostas to the Pistons vs. Houston Rockets game on November 18.
Here is Kostas with Detroit Shock BB player Swin Cash with all 5 NBA and WNBA championship trophies:

Kostas with Greek National Soccer team's jersey No. 9 of Charisteas:

Why all of a sudden we decided to go to a Pistons game and shell out about $125 bucks for tickets, parking, food, etc? Well, the reason is the player below is from Dad's hometown...It just does not happen that someone from Dad's hometown makes it to the NBA, so Dad felt this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to come out and support the kid who was instrumental winning Silver in the World Chcampionships in Japan this August. His game in the semifinals against the US will be remembered for decades, he had 24 points...His name is Vasilis Spanoulis, just 24 years old, his nickname is "Kill Bill" for his deadly attitude he brings to the floor...

Bravo....this was from a preseason game:

We made it to the back of the bench of the Rockets near the end of the game and we said hi to him a couple of times and he acknowledged us and said goodbye to us after the end of the game

Unfortunately, he did not play. In the next game in New York one of the Houston starters got injured andKill Bill played 15 minutes.

warming up before the game

Yao Ming shooting a free throw, he had a great game 33 points and 16 rebounds

Chauncey Billups in isolation play

noise, noise, woowoowoo

We should add that the Pistons won at the end

Dodgeball at taekwondo:

Kosta's Dragons soccer team had a rough game on November 19th against one of the Ann Arbor teams. We lost 4-2 and got beat by a very scrappy opponent who had a few very talented players. One of them was such a menace that he was way overboard and was clearly dangerous on the pitch, a yellow card would have come a long way to quiet him down. Even parent Liz lost him and almost went to the opposing coach screaming "get this kid out of there". I wish I would have whooped his little butt, the little snot.

Coach Tim doing his best "we learned a lot today"...oh yeah, we sure did!

As I said, rough game, the kids took it hard, Austin was crying. We are 2-2 and holding our own against the Ann Arbor and Saline kids

Outside Wide World, snowing, Kostas with a huge green bublle gum in his mouth:

For Thanksginving we went to Mick and Christal's house again and then we went to May's house in the evening....Too much turkey, hard to move the next morning

Mom and Dad's 13th wedding anniversary, just like we needed another reason for a gathering.

Another game at Wide World for the Dragons, we beat a Saline team 7-2. We were up 3-0 by halftime but in the first five minutes of the 2nd half we let in two goals and the other team had the other hand...but slowly we turned it around and cruised to victory. Kostas scored one goal, his first of this season finally!

Notice the ref pointing for the other team's direction? This girl's calls were 10 to 1 for the other team, no kidding. Some of our parents made some comments about it and the parent of the girl was right there who got a little bitchy towards the parents who said some words. It got interesting and Dad tried to give his own ref spin. I felt sorry for the mother, if she can not take that minor crap from parents or coaches she should get her daughter out of reffing!

Job well done boys!

Dad off to a two day business trip East, therefore the early posting.
