Father Son Trip to Orlando-Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park

We got upgraded to first class. Kostas thought it is the same as the international trips on Northwest where you get your own flat bed seat but domestic it is different, plenty of space

and a very nice breakfast

this lady flew from Canada to Orlando with her dog inside this bag who slept the whole way...if only Sophia could do that on the planes!

At the airport and everywhere Disney and kids rule

very nice SUV for only $24 per day at National Car Rental and triple Northwest miles

Blizzard Beach water park was rated 2nd best out of the top 10 water parks. Well, compared to the No. 1 Schlitterbahn (see June 9-12 of 2005 blog report) should not be even close to second. We believe it was rated that high due to the very unique theme, mainly a snow blizzard supposedly hit this beach and you see all the snow everywhere and in the mountain peaks. Very unique and very nice. But the water rides were too few and only two were thrilling and some were fine. We left about 4 pm and raced over to the Islands of Adventure again on the second day.

Yes you can take chairlift to the peak, notice the skis!

Kostas always loves a challenge

the mountain peak at the back

This is the best one, the Summit Plummet, and yes you do plummet 120 feet vertically!

top two rides

this is the view from the top at the Summit Plummet

Toboggan Racers

Runoff Rapids

Downhill Double Dipper

Snow Stormers

Melt Away Bay one acre pool

Cross country creek, goes all around the park

Ski Patrol pre teen area

entrance/exit

huge McDonalds just outside the park

We stayed right on International Drive at a Holiday Inn on a Priceline stay for $55 per night, great location, unremarkable older hotel run over by tourists from all over the world.
On the way back, Northwest's upgrade did not clear so we flew coach! Barely missed on getting bumped!
