Sophia was not feeling good Monday night, woke up holding her ear. We took her to the doctor Tuesday morning and she had an ear infection. Started an antibiotic for 10 days and she already felt much better by the end of the day and was back at EMU Childrens Institute:

Our pediatrician Dr. Stacy Walters was not working that day so we saw Dr. Stumbo. As soon as she came in the room, Sophia tells her in her unique way "I like your hair". She throws compliments around along with hugs freely, very sociable like Kostas has been...Mom and Dad were not like that when we were kids:-)

Dad finally installed a web camera in his desktop PC and we usually use Yahoo's Messenger . We are trying to get Kosta's cousins overseas and in New York, along with a few classmates, to start using it to chat with each other and get him to be more computer savvy. For now, we use one of the laptops upstairs and the desktop downstairs to chat online...Yahoo has some really funny audibles that Kostas like to use towards dad...lots of laughs!
Dad's yahoo handle is gpapadop
Kosta's yahoo handle is kpapadop007
If you wanted to set up the kids to chat with each other please contact dad and we'll set up a time to arrange it.
Mom has been taking Greek language lessons at the Greek church with the same teacher who is teaching Kostas!
Basketball practice was very good this week. Kostas is now into it. We spent some time together practicing and he has been getting better. He can now make the layups, three or four in a row when before he had a hard time making one. He is getting more confidence and this team is just due for a win.
We spent Friday night at Agusto and Natasha's house with the rest of the gang.
Ok, Saturday came along and the fourth game of the season (two more) playing against the also winless Cavs. Great game from start to finish, with constand lead changes. With three minutes left the Cavs take a four point lead! In the next minute, our team the Kings tie the game 10-10. Then Kings take the lead 12-10 with a little more than a minute left! Time out and parents are beside themselves seeing how close we were to a win! Well, with forty five seconds left we foul their best shooter who proceeds to hit back to back free throws to tie the game! We had two shots in our next possession but the ball again does not bounce our way! Come on Lord, what have we done to you?:-) Then, the unthinkable happens! With six seconds left, the Cavs shoot and the tiniest guy on their team miraculously gets the rebound and puts it back with five seconds left...I swear, if this kid gets into the same position again his shot will not hit the rim nine out of ten times. But here he is and he becomes a hero. Frantic timeout call by our coach but the refs ignore us and the clock keeper lets the game end....The coach goes to the refs and protests why he did not call the timeout...The other ref agrees to put five seconds on the clock. We have a timeout and we set up a play to free up and set it to Vinnie, our best shooter, for a last second shot. The play works in perfection, Vinnie's shot goes up with a second left, and the freaking balls rolls in and out!!! A big Ahh.. by the parents, Vinnie is behind himself pounding his fists on the floor and all Kings players and bench holding their heads....This is the defnition of "So so close". Darn it, these kids want to taste victory so bad and they deserve it! We have two more shots and it does not look promising, the Cavs were our best shot for a victory but it was not meant to be! With the weather getting better, Kostas wants to practice in our driveway!
After the game Dad took Kostas to a Science Fair at the Washtenaw Community College campus. Some really neat experiment stuff there:

After that it was off to Colonial Lanes for classmate Caleb's birthday party:

Saturday night the gang migrated to Tea's house. Here is Kostas with Kevin at their basement:

and the other kids watching a cartoon movie with Dexter supervising?
