Dad was the room parent this Monday at the Greek School, he basically kept every student in line.
Kostas sleeps in some awkard patterns, including somehow mostly finding himself sleeping on top of his blankets. This time he managed to sleep on the edge of the couch! Our cat Robofluff (the cat formerly knows as Fluffy) likes to sleep with him:

Sophia with Isiah at the Children's Institute saying goodbye to one of the student workers:

Having some fun with Robofluff:

Hi, I am Sophia and I am a fun girl:

Sophia continues her swimming lessons:

On Wednesday Dad spent almost 5 hours with four other Rotarians interviewing local high school kids going to college who applied for our scholarships. We chose five of them, everyone gets a $1,000 scholarship from our club. It is so satisfying when you call the winners and make them so happy!
Kostas continues his soccer practices and Sophia gets to play at the playard at Burns Park while allowing Dad to help coach the team:

Kostas went to a field trip with his 3rd grade class to the Wasthenaw County Fairgrounds where they got to see many animals.
On Thursday the workers dropped off the hardwood and on Friday the work finally started! They ripped up the floor and moved everything into the fireplace room

Hardwood by Bruce is in boxes, one of these days we will walk on it!

this is the are where the refridgerator was and the major leak happened:

On Saturday we had the first soccer game with Kosta's Thunder team. We again run into the same team from last year which has proceeded to kick every other team's butt in a major way for years now. It is all due to one player, the coach's son who is simply amazing, we are talking Pele level talent! He was unstoppable and that kid scored 3 goals in just the first quarter! We managed to score once early in the second quarter to make it 3-1 and then that kid came back in and scored two goals himself and his team scored another one to go up 6-1 by halftime!
Obviously the coach's strategy to start defensively and tire them out did not work so we got the kids to forget about the score and pretend it is 0-0 and just play hard and better and let's try to win the second half! Our team played much better in the second half, the Pele kid did get tired and started firing blanks and we managed to keep the third quarter scoreless. And then in the fourth quarter we played them much much better and Kostas proceeded to score two goals to make it 6-3! Not bad, last year they beat us by 7 or 8 goals! So, a very encouraging showing and the kids impoved throughout the game and if we had one more quarter we could have tied the game, who knows. Let's see what the other two teams in our league look like, we play each team twice this year.

We finally got a new net for our basketball hoop:

Sunday morning Mom did a WalkAmerica charity event at the Hudson Mills Park and Dad kept the kids and took them to the Dom Bakeries shop down the street for donuts:

There we saw Madison's mom and dad who had twins 7 months ago (Madison and Sophia were together at Barb's daycare). Sophia just loves taking care of babies.

We stopped by at a bike shop and checked out some bikes for Kostas, he is due for a bigger one.
This weekend we had gatherings at Tee's house and at Simon/Maggie.
This is how the kitchen looks like right now, the whole main floor is unusable. Work is supposed to continue next week, we shall see.
