March 14 - 20, 2005

Dad attended Kosta's class field trip to the Planet Rock Gymmastics building in Ann Arbor. We had a lot of fun going with the Perry school bus.

Here is Kostas and Sean, with Sean's dad looking on:

On the bus playing hangman with Kostas while in the background Sean playing a game with his dad:

Just got to the Gymnastics building:

Climbing the ropes, check out Kostas on the right!

On Sunday it was time for the March 25th holiday celebration of the Greek School at the Greek church. After several practices all the kids were ready. Kostas was dressed in the traditional Greek warrior dress from the 1820s. Unfortunately, he was not too thrilled to wear a white skirt with white tights but after we got to the church and saw his classmates wearing the same he felt a lot more comfortable!

Leaving our house:

The grand entrance (Kostas is the second from the left with the blue top and red hat):

We had some friends over on Sunday night. The kids decided to paint, here is Kostas and Tesa painting:

Kostas was given a lesson in money on Sunday night. It was decided to give him a $5 weekly allowance in a piggy bank with four slots. SAVE (to save for short term goals...he said he wants to save for a computer laptop), SPEND (spend on things he likes to have now or very shortly), DONATE (help a cause...we are working on helping him identify one) and INVEST (to save for the long term, over 10 years...retirement, house, etc....this will be added to his credit union account where he has about $380 now and when he gets to $500 we will invest it)...Had a very preliminary discussion on buying stocks and what profit is, he seemed quite interested and excited. He put $1 in INVEST, DONATE, SPEND and two to the SAVE slot. We told him if he is extremely good sometimes in school/home/taekwondo/etc we may give him a bonus allowance or match his INVEST deposit, his eyes popped out. He was also told that he now must sleep in his own room (no more sleeping with Mom and Dad) and he must clean his room once a week or allowance will be cut...he said "I 'll do it, I'll do it". Anyway, good lessons for a 7 year old to learn.
