January 31 - February 6, 2005

We kept Sophia home on Tuesday, just a little fever.

On Wednesday Mom went to Perry School and enjoyed having lunch with Kostas and his classmates.

Dad stopped at Costco on Thursday to pick up a gift card and saw this display below:

Yes you now can buy caskets on Costco, they are always on sale! "Hey honey, look, we can buy two caskets, they are now on sale buy one and get one free!!!" That reminds me of a joke: Someones asks the local funeral home director "how is business?". He responds: "Business is dead" :-)

On Saturday Kostas had his red belt testing, just two belts away from black belt.

We had a little gathering at our home to celebrate the Chinese New Year Saturday night. Check out some of the plentiful delicious food below:

Here is Maggie preparing some chinese new year cake (hi to her mom and dad in Taiwan, looking forward to meeting you one day)

obligatory group pic (the kids are all playing upstairs except Sophia mommy's girl)

The weather this week was much warmer and much of the snow has already melted. Instead Larissa, Dad's hometown in Greece, has been suffering a cold wave with quite a bit of snow and ice. Dad still remembers how in 6th grade it snowed and for the first time back then the snow actually stuck on the ground....one of the happiest days in childhood since our teacher let us all go out and play with the snow, it was awesome! Apparently, in the last 20 years it has snowed quite often with winters being colder...Reverse global warming is happening there! Here is how it looked...looks like Michigan!!

Kostas did great on his Chinese school class test.

On Sunday night it was time for the Superbowl , the most watched sport event in this country featuring the two best football teams, the best and most expensive advertising commercials, and an always over the top halftime show...Frankly, Janet Jackson was a heck of a lot more pleasing to the eye than seeing "i can't believe they ask me to do this" boring Paul McCartney.
