January 17 - 23, 2005
Monday it was Martin Luther King Day, no school for Kostas. He played at Sean's house with Rex, Perry School classmates. Afterwards, Kostas and Dad visited the dentist.
Here is a pic of the court of the gym where Dad is a member and goes at least three times a week. We are thinking about getting a family membership when Sophia gets a little older.
On Wednesday, Dad took Kostas to the EMU BB game where the men's team proceeded to lose another game, it looks like we will be looking for a new coach after this season. Rex brought Jacob, here are those two goofing around:
On Thursday we went to the Perry School Literacy Academy Family night, here are some pics:
On Friday night we went to the Ypsilanti Chamber of Commerce Annual Gala event. Every year for the past five years a group of local business people get together and perform a dance. Dad danced the past four years but just could not do it this year mainly because of the kids' schedules. Here are the "Lounge Lizards" getting down to the Blues Brothers tunes:
Sophia practicing to be one of them some years down the road:
Sophia loves to dance, she was fascinated by the live band and has a great sense of rhythm:
Dave and Diane, Gordie and Sheila:
Dad and Kostas in front of the band:
At the end of the event they always draw a ticket that wins a new car. Dad always buys a ticket mainly to help the chamber (cost $100, only up to 900 sold) and waits to see who wins. I told Kostas if we win I would get him an XBox, heck I told him, I would get yout Two X-Boxes....Kostas got so excited he almost went up to them and ordered them to pull our ticket!!
Friday night it started snowing. It just kept snowing and snowing until late Saturday night. We received about 9.3 inches (24 centimeters). It took Dad more than two hours to shovel the snow off the driveway and, as always, Dad did a super job.
On Saturday night Dad took Kostas to the EMU Women's BB game where they raised the banners from last year's championship. They had some mascots entertaining the crowd, here is Kostas with the "Mongo Man"
Afterwards we stayed for a very nice reception honoring the team.
