October 16 - 31, 2008

Parent teacher conference with Sophia's teacher went well on October 16 at Allen. Kosta's parent teacher conference at Tappan was also great, the kid is a straight As student!

6th game of the season with United, another close win...Record is now 4-2.

The Tappan Middle School soccer team had a soccer tournament at Forsythe Middle School in a very very cold rainy day. They won 3 and tied 2 games or something like that. The season is over, well done for the 6th graders.

Sophia participated in a Greek School celebration at the church.

Final two games the weekend of Oct 25/26. First we beat Soccer Blast 2-1 on Saturday and in the finale the kids played a memorable game to beat an undefeated Dearborn team 4-3 (Kostas scored one goal). The game was fantastic, we suprised them in the beginning going up 2-0, they score one before halftime. Then Dearborn came in the second half ready for business and promptly score two goals to go up 3-2 and continuing to pressure United for more goals. Then in a breakaway five minutes before the end we tie the game and in the very final play we win a Penalty Kick which we convert to stun Dearborn 4-3...what a way to end the season 6-2 (won 6 straight after losing the first 2). Finished second in the division, not bad!

We started the indoor season at Wide World:
