September 2 - September 15, 2008
School started on September 2, Kostas goes to Tappan Middle School in 6th Grade and Sophia goes to Allen Elementary in 1st Grade. School buses stop around the corner in front of David's house for Kostas and just across the street for Sophia! Both kids love their schools, I think we made an excellent choice to move in this district!
We had a new student parent Orientation at Allen given by the Allen PTO...Donna (David's mom in our neighborhood) is in it and gave an excellent presentation to us. Sophia loves the school and we do too! Sophia's teacher is Mrs. Cocco who is super nice.
We had a neighborhood Ice Cream Social at Donna's house on September 5, we met more neighbors.
Kids started Chinese School on Sundays 12-3 pm.
We had Curriculum Night at Tappan Middle School on September 11. Wow, we are impressed, Kostas is loving it there!
Sophia's ballet class has now been switched to Saturdays at 1.45 since Mondays she has started 1st Grade in Greek School.
First day of school, kids gather for the Tappan bus:
Kostas is thinking "go away Dad, you are the only parent here, not cool"
Sophia's turn:
Off to the races!
A blast from the past! Mommy as a little girl:

At EMU at her graduation:

Dad is really NOT that white, bad camera!

Detroit Metro airport finally opened a new terminal to replace the embarassing Smith Terminal. They had a grand opening and Dad took the kids to it.
Lining up:
a beautiful sight....nwa plane....it won't last long...Delta is taking over....and that is so so sad!
lost a tooth, tooth fairy out of dollar bills, cost it a Five dollar bill!
so much more space now!
lots of games for kids to play in the opening:
jamming
a violin blond trio!
First scrimmage game for Kosta's United Gold team:
First game of the season at home. Lost to Michigan Express 3-2. It will be a long season. We miss the Dragons team so much. Kostas scored 1 goal. Game was 0-0 at halftime. Lost after being up 2-1 at the end. This team has a very long way to go, completely different than the situation we had with the Dragons over the last several years. Dragons made it up to No. 7 in Michigan state ratings in their division!
Kostas said "it was so weird giving a high five to the other team who won"
Fluffy has been on a tear around the house so we have decided to let him out again...so far so good.
