Aug 12 2004 - Cedar Point roller coaster heaven
We were on the road by 8am and made it to Cedar Point by the opening time of 10 am. The weather was actually pretty good with the temperature in the mid 60s. When there was no sun you really needed a sweatshirt. We rented a stroller for $15 which allowed us to move the kids faster and store our back packs and water.
Here is a pic of Kostas by the entrance:
Here is a pic of Kostas and Jacob in the stroller, in the background the Millenium ride, still one of the best (if not the best) roller coaster in Cedar Point.
The new ride this year is the Top Thrill Dragster. NOTHING is equivalent to the exhilarating experience of this ride. You shoot out of the gate at 120 miles per hour and shoot up 420 ft and then down again reaching the same speeds...unbelievable (and so were the lines for it!) Here is a view of the humongous structure sitting right beneath it...Not for the faint hearted!!
Here are two pics of the kids clowning around:
Kids of course had a great time. Kostas rode the Iron Dragon four times! Jacob was not 48 inches tall so that prevented him from doing as many rides as Kostas.
Of course the big kids sure enjoyed themselves too. We managed to do all the main rides, Top Thrill Dragster, Millenium, Magnum, Raptor and Mantis. Wicked Twister was down. Dad is a certified coaster nut, there is nothing like a feeling of being up in the air spinning and twisting in high speeds, kind of like a super stress reliever! You can see Dad here riding the Millenium (excuse the pic quality, it is a picture of another picture!) with his thumbs up, oh yeah!!
We made it back home at 11.30 pm, the kids slept at the back for at least an hour on the way back.
We are already thinking about going back!
