Spring Break Beijing Trip - April 14 Ming Tombs
Off to the Ming Tombs. This is the final resting place of 13 of the 16 Ming emperors. Only about three of the tombs are open to the public and we chose to see the largest one Chang Ling, the burial place of the emperor Yongle.
The parking lot fills up with tourist buses. We bought some pears from some street vendors, they were delicious!
This structure is called the Hall of Eminent Favours:

Emperor Yongle, he was a bad ass:-)
They liked their stuff to be made of gold, emperorly:-)

We thought this was going to be another highlight of the trip but we found it to be ho-hum.
We intended to stop by and eat inside one of the several home restaurants on the main street, where there were ladies with colorful traditional dresses out front waving flags and trying to get drivers to stop by to eat. But time was running out and we decided to hit the Summer Palace with our driver. He costs us 700 Yuan for the day, about $100 USD and oh so well worth it.
